GCSE success
Year 11 students received their GCSE grades at Bellerive today and we were delighted to share in their successes. The students began their GCSE studies in 2021 following a significant period of disruption caused by Covid and the national picture saw GCSE grades returning to pre-pandemic levels.
Our students continue to achieve well as judged by the basic measure of grades 4+ in English and Maths and the outcomes in specific subjects are also very encouraging. Our overall results have us above national averages for both overall 4+ and 5+ grades . We look to have beaten the national average in the numbers of students achieving a grade 7 or higher in History, Geography, English and RE.
Individual student success stories included:
8 grade 9's for Aaliyah C
7 grade 9's for Eva T
4 grade 9's for Lilia T
There were many positive results in the vocational subjects. Eva T achieved a Distinction* in Business and there were Distinctions also awarded to Kate B, Lily C, Brooke F, Amber G, Isabella H, Ebony M and Grace W. Beatrix C also achieved a Distinction in IT.
We look forward to many of the students joining us for sixth form this September. Many will be part of our honours programme which aims to support those students who aspire to apply to the most competitive universities.
