British Science Week

Competition winners

We had some fantastic entries for our British Science Week Poster Competition that celebrated diversity and 'Unsung Heroes' in science. All of our entrants did themselves so proud and the calibre of posters that we received was such that we wanted to make sure we could celebrate beyond the school community.

We had 4 judges: Sister Lynne fcJ ( a Physics teacher herself), Mrs Taylor, Meadow Ronan in Y13 (who did a similar poster when she was in Y7!) and a Grand Judge for 1st Place in Professor Marianne Aznar from the Physics Department at the University of Manchester. All judges, including our external guests, expressed how impressed they were with the quality of entries, and we were really blown away with the creativity and the attention to detail that many of them exhibited.

The Winners for Y7&8 category were:

Third Place: Sarah F, 7T for her celebration of Marie Curie

Second Place: Romeesa A, 7J for her celebration of Mae Jemison

First Place: Katie B, 7R for her celebration of Ada Lovelace

The Winners for the Y9 category were:

Third Place: Benie Z, 9T for her celebration of Mae Jemison

Second Place: Shenice D and Allegra S, 9J for their celebration of Ada Lovelace

First Place: Jhowlyn G, 9J for her celebration of Alice Ball
