Welcome from our Headteacher
It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Bellerive FCJ Catholic College. I am extremely honoured and excited to have been appointed by the school Governors to lead this fantastic school.
As headteacher, I will ensure I uphold the standards you have all come to expect from Bellerive, not only academically, but in providing an education that enables each young person to grow into their best self, developing the courage and confidence to use their talents and gifts in the service of others. As a former student of Bellerive’s sixth form, this community is one that I know well and am passionate about serving.
The teaching and support I received whilst studying at Bellerive enabled me to develop both spiritually and academically and I left the college as confident young person, ready for the next stage of my journey. Whilst there have been many positive changes in the preceding years, it has been encouraging to speak to so many students, who confirm the community spirit and dedication of staff is as present today as it was when I was a student.
I have worked successfully in education for almost 20 years, and I have seen first-hand the power of education in breaking down barriers and helping young people to succeed. I am ambitious for the students at Bellerive and alongside supporting them to achieve academic success, I am committed to providing them with extra-curricular, spiritual, cultural and lifelong learning experiences that develop their moral character and enable them to move on successfully to the next stage of their lives.
As the leader of this school, my main priority is to ensure Bellerive continues to be a happy and safe school, where high-quality teaching and high expectations of behaviour allows all students to realise their full potential. The FCJ values of excellence, gentleness, hope, justice, companionship and dignity, both in and out of school will continue to underpin all that we do, and I will ensure students have access to the information, guidance and pastoral support they need to achieve personal growth and academic success.
I believe that strong partnerships with parents help us to provide the very best education for our students and would value your support and feedback over the next academic year. In the meantime, I look forward to meeting you at upcoming school events.
