About

Our school mission is:
  • To help everyone within a caring community to grow in faith
  • To respect and value other cultures and faiths
  • To make the most of every given ability
  • To enjoy and achieve personal growth and academic excellence
  • To prepare pupils for their adult life, playing a full part in a modern global society.
Bellerive FCJ

Bellerive was founded in 1844 by Marie Madeleine D’Houet, the foundress of the religious order Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ). The FCJ sisters are still involved in our school today contributing to the spiritual life of our school, teaching and serving on the Governing Board.

Marie Madeleine instilled in her pupils a sense of moral purpose and self-worth and this is reflected in our school motto – ‘Suaviter in Modo Fortiter in Re’, literally meaning strong in action, gentle in manner.

FCJ schools are communities of personal and academic excellence. Strong in companionship, the unique giftedness of every person in our faith community is recognised, nourished and celebrated.  Our hope and expectation is that, through God’s grace working in us all, each young person grows into their best self, with a zest for life and the generosity and confidence to use their talents and gifts in the service of others.
